Plot: Set in a future where the Capitol selects a boy and girl from the twelve districts to fight to the death on live television, Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take her younger sister's place for the latest match.
Quick comment: The futuristic scenario was well set and the concept behind the games
worked fine. The problem was that along the course of its story, I wasn't able to be convinced. Predictable in its twists and turns, it didn’t surprise
me much. For me it was just another action movie without much to think or
discuss about. For better games, I recommend the japanese “Battle Royale” from 2000, now running in IFC Cinema, NYC.
